If you have been to the Twin Lights in the past three weeks, you will have seen our new orientation exhibit being slowly assembled. It is right in the gallery right next to the museum store.
It has been a very fun two year project to research, curate, design, and install this introduction to our beloved Twin Lights lighthouses.
The only thing left is to get the clockwork drive (see video) operating so that it provides the best visitor experience. We've been working on it for a few weeks now, and learning more about friction and mechanical movement than we expected.
We shall not be defeated! I think we are on to the solution now, although we've said that twice already. This all makes me appreciate old fashion ingenuity and engineers in general.
We invite you to come to the Twin Lights to see if we figured it out or not.
